The Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) has summoned rappers Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazzo to handle issues over vulgar content material of their music.
In a letter dated December 3, UNCC Vice Chairperson Phina Mugerwa, also called Masanyalaze, requested the 2 artists to look earlier than the board immediately.
The artists will focus on songs equivalent to Okwepicha, Enyama, Doozi, and Omunio by Gravity Omutujju, in addition to Enkudi and Ensujju by Lil Pazzo. The UNCC claims these songs don’t align with Uganda’s cultural values and norms.
“As a part of our mandate to protect, promote, and popularize artwork and tradition domestically and internationally, we invite you to a dialogue about your content material. These songs problem our cultural id and threaten the sustainability of the inventive sector for future generations,” the letter reads.
The UNCC is dedicated to safeguarding Uganda’s tradition by means of the promotion of accountable inventive expression.
