Joann Kelly, the daughter of a well-known American singer, R. Kelly, has claimed that her father sexually abused her as a toddler.
Speaking in a brand new two half documentary collection for the TVEI Streaming Network, Joann stated she first reported the abuse to her mom, Drea, in 2009.
The 26-year-old who didn’t element the alleged abuse, acknowledged in an episode of the documentary titled ‘Karma: A Daughter’s Journey’, that the jail sentence of the 57-year-old singer is effectively deserved.
“My father was my every little thing. For a very long time, I didn’t need to imagine that it occurred. I didn’t know that he would do one thing to me even when he was a nasty individual.
“I used to be too scared to inform anyone. I used to be too scared to inform my mother. I actually really feel like that one millisecond utterly simply modified my entire life, who I used to be as an individual and the sunshine I used to hold.
“After I informed my mother, I didn’t go over there anymore; my brother (Robert) and sister (Jaah) we didn’t go over there anymore. And even up till now I battle with it so much.”
Reacting to the documentary, the singer’s lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean in a public assertion denied the allegations.
The singer was sentenced to twenty years in jail In February 2023, for baby pornography and enticement costs.
He will serve the years concurrently with a previous 30-year jail sentence from a separate case in New York on July 29, 2022.
