Dancehall musician Ziza Bafana has expressed disappointment with Ugandan music, urging artists to enhance their manufacturing and supply.
On his social media platforms, Bafana voiced his frustration with what he calls “bubblegum” music, insisting it should cease for the sake of the business. He warned that many musicians will develop into impoverished in the event that they proceed releasing such music.
“We should change the music productions, and these bubblegum lyrics should cease instantly. Otherwise, I see a variety of pretend artists/musicians turning into farmers and beggars!” he wrote.
Naira Ali echoed Ziza Bafana’s issues about Ugandan music, emphasizing the necessity for change. She criticized modern artists for releasing “nonsense” and expressed her disappointment.
“I’ve seen a variety of new Ugandan artists, however what are you even singing? Total nonsense! What is occurring to our music business? What is happening? My goodness! The music may be very dangerous,” she defined.
“Guys, let’s do one thing. It’s been some time since I listened to Ugandan music, and it’s such a heartbreak. I’m so disillusioned. Where are the true artists? Where are the true proficient individuals? What are we as much as?” she added.
However, fellow musician Rickman disagreed with Bafana and Ali, arguing that artwork has no components or limits. He acknowledged that artists can select to be as academic or so simple as they need.
“I’m bored with the phrase ‘Ugandan music business has no music,’ ‘artists should not having good lyrics,’ blah blah…. Art has no components and no limits. You might be as much less educative as you need or very educative in your craft. If you don’t need it, don’t purchase it or take heed to it,” he defined.
